ABOUT  THE ARTIST

Hi there! I'm Christine Harrell, the owner, photographer, and painter of Christine Harrell Photography and Painted Memories by Christine.

I've had an enthusiasm for photography ever since I was about ten years old. As soon as I had a camera of my own, I became known for carrying it around everywhere I went and was the unofficial photographer at all family events. Since then, I've been able to grow in my skills and experience through education and lots of practice! My favorite photos are those that beautifully reflect the mood and personality of the subject. I have always loved that through photography, I get to creatively capture moments that can be remembered for years to come.

As for my artwork, I always enjoyed drawing and painting as a little girl and took art lessons as both a child and as an adult. My lessons under Mr. Larry Casso were very influential for me as an artist, and I fell in love with watercolor under his tutelage. However, I struggled to find the inspiration to paint until I decided to paint a scene from a photograph I had taken on my honeymoon, and I realized what motivates me to paint is a desire to capture special places and memories in art.

While I love being a photographer and an artist, my favorite titles are wife and mom! In November 2017, I married Daniel, the love of my life and best friend, and relocated from Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma to be with him. He is such a blessing to me, and to write all the reasons why would take up more room than I have here. Since 2018, we have added 2 sweet little boys to our family, and we are expected our 3rd in 2022!

When I'm not taking pictures or painting, I enjoy listening to music, writing, online window shopping, spending time with friends and family, and of course, eating Mexican food! I am also a big fan of cozy blankets, string lights, and hardback books. The most important part of my life is my walk with God. Anything good found in me or the things I write and create is because of Him, and I give Him the glory for it all!
